As many of you know, I’ve been maintaining this site for a few years now, and after a time working on any project, it gets to a steady state where not a lot changes. While the under-the-hood things have been happening, the look and the content of the site haven’t changed a lot in the last couple of years.
When a new comment needs to be moderated, I usually give it a quick scan to make sure it’s not spam, approve it, and rarely do I give it a second thought.
A couple of weeks ago, I was doing some maintenance on the site, updating plug-ins, and doing server operating system security updates. When I was finished, I started reading in detail some of the comments that are attached to the different posts and pages. I was completely floored by some of them in their praise for the Band and Col. Feltham. I know how much my time at VFMA affected my life, but I don’t think I really understood the degree to which our shared experiences in the Band affected our group. The more I read, the more I realized what a gift we share.
If you’ve been listening to the music, that’s great! That’s why it’s here. But now, I am asking you that the next time you’re on the site, take some time to browse some of the comments. Seek them out. They are often hidden at the bottom of the longer pages and posts, but I am certain that you’ll enjoy reading them.
Thanks much and be well!

Good morning!
While the physical move of the BandSir.com server went smoothly, a thunderstorm on Sunday morning caused a short power outage. The uninterruptible power supply failed and for some reason still unknown, the database software failed. This is why this site has been offline.
Fortunately, I have backups, but I had to learn how to restore the site, having never needed to restore it before. It’s back up and running again — sorta. It’s not on a secure web page yet, but I’ll add that back over the coming days.
If you find a link that doesn’t work, please let me know by email at DanWolfe.us@gmail.com.
Thanks much for your patience! I appreciate all the kind words of support for this site. Y’all are awesome!
Be well and stay safe out there,
Dan Wolfe
