I would like to comment on this concert, “The Phrase of Christmas,” regarding an unusual thing that happened in the chapel during this concert. But before I do that, I would like to reach out and say hello to an old choir member, Mark Ray, who has posted his thoughts of this occasion. Hello oh buddy, hope you are well.
As memory serves me, we used the chapel only for Sunday service. And every service was formal, there was no applause. This was the only time we had a choir concert in the chapel. Well, if you listen to this recording, halfway through the concert you will hear a faint applause from someone originated some where in the back of the chapel. That single applause turned into a roar of applause throughout the congregation. That single applause that started that roar was General Baker. He attended that concert that night.
