1972 WJZ-TV Christmas Concert

For Christmas of 1972, WJZ television in Baltimore, Maryland invited the Valley Forge Military Academy Band to record a Christmas concert for their viewership. Please click here or on the image below to take you to the page where the video is.

Thanks of course go to Ron Youngs, who had this program along with the recording of Nixon’s inaugural concert previously posted here.

1973 Broadcast from the Kennedy Center

You’ll want to click on this. Trust me.

For years, I’ve been trying to find some sort of visual evidence that we were even there at Nixon’s second inaugural concert. I called the Kennedy Center, I wrote to PBS, who televised the concert, and to the local DC newspapers, none of which produced a single thing.

Thanks to Ron Youngs, we have the video of the event as it was broadcast back in 1973. Clink on any of the links or photos to go to the event page.

Maintenance is Complete

Band Sir! Posted on June 28, 2020 by Dan WolfeJune 28, 2020

As I mentioned a while ago, I had to transfer the domain registration and DNS service from one provider to Google Domains. I believe that this transfer is complete, however your home computer may have old information stored and hasn’t quite yet got the update. That information should be updated within a day, I suspect.

There is no action for you to take. Please let me know if any problems accessing the site are NOT cleared up within a day or so.

Thanks everyone for your patience! I appreciate it greatly. Hopefully, it’s all back to normal.

Band, Sir!

A Little Down Time

Band Sir! Posted on June 16, 2020 by Dan WolfeJune 16, 2020

BandSir is moving domain registrars. What that means is that sometimes, the domain name servers around the world may not have the current information to reach BandSir. Clearing browser and DNS caches may help alleviate the issue.

Otherwise, the site is working as it ought to.

Thanks for your patience!

Dan
