Band Sir! Posted on May 30, 2015 by Dan WolfeMay 30, 2015

I’m on a roll this weekend.  (‘Bout time, huh?)

Good evening!

I just finished editing, restoring and posting the VFMA Band Record Album “Spring Festival.”

Both back and front covers are included on the record’s page along with an embedded player that’ll play the entire album.  And as always should you find broken links, or errors in the program material, please email me.  I’ll do my best to fix whatever’s wrong right away.

Thanks again to Bruce Daggett for the digital files!

Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

New VFMA Record Album Posted

Good evening!

I just finished editing, restoring and posting the 1962 VFMA Band Album “Parading the Brasses.”

Parading_the_Brasses_Cover

This was a particularly difficult four-hour restoration project because the digital files were recorded from a very scratchy and pop-filled vinyl recording.  I’ve done my best to make these tracks listenable, if that’s a word.

Both back and front covers are included on the record’s page along with an embedded player that’ll play the entire album.  And as always should you or any of your IMF agents find broken links, or errors in the program material, please email me.  I’ll do my best to fix whatever’s wrong right away.

Thanks to Bruce Daggett for the digital files!

One other thing:  The little symbol at the top right of the title that looks like a cartoon thought bubble is for your comments.  Click on that and you’ll be taken to the comment dialogue for that post or page.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Welcome to the New BandSir.com!

Band Sir! Posted on May 27, 2015 by Dan WolfeMay 27, 2015

The original BandSir.com has been migrated to new software which makes it easier to find the specific year or record you’re after.

At the top of this post and every screen is a menu which takes you directly to the academic year or to a list of available record albums.  On the right is also a list of the same items organized at a glance.

You can comment on each of the pages, if you’d like to leave a memory of your time playing this great music from VFMA.  Every comment will be moderated and we’ll do our best to keep unsolicited spam off our site.

Coming soon is a link for you to purchase the BandSir.com Lapel Pin.  Hon. William Kear, ’72 JC, is coordinating another buy of the pins and we’ll have information shortly on how you can get yours.

The biggest feature is that BandSir.com now has a built-in media player!  Each concert and album is organized into a playlist.  With one click, you can listen to the entire concert without ever leaving your browser.

And of course, more content is on the way.

BandSir.com is now mobile friendly and the built-in media player works just as well there.

Enjoy!
