Another New Album Posted
I’m on a roll this weekend. (‘Bout time, huh?)
Good evening!
I just finished editing, restoring and posting the VFMA Band Record Album “Spring Festival.”
Both back and front covers are included on the record’s page along with an embedded player that’ll play the entire album. And as always should you find broken links, or errors in the program material, please email me. I’ll do my best to fix whatever’s wrong right away.
Thanks again to Bruce Daggett for the digital files!
Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Band, Sir!
Wonderful! Thanks so much Dan! Whenever my old body needs a “lift” I turn on BandSir.com and gets my blood flowing! Courage, Honor , Conquer!
There is an error in the presentation above.
The Band for many years was quartered in the lower section of Lafayette Hall which burned to the ground sometime in the late 50’s or early 60’s. Von Stueben Hall was the home of E Battery for all those years and until more recent times. I well know this as I spent 5 years in that building. It was painted white about the same time that Lafayette burned. It was not until recent years that the band took over that building and saved it from complete destruction by the former occupants.

Fascinating. As a sobering reminder of the preeminence of the old men, I’ll never forget when the plebes from 1967-1968 had to perform the football/Harrisburg drill without old men at the football field during a Saturday morning practice–then the old men without plebes performed the show (Duke wasn’t present). We plebes were predictably pathetic and the old men, (for good measure, in the trumpet section, Erdman, Hoffman, Detweiler, etc)… amazing. That exercise convinced me I was whale dung; but somehow it all worked out in the end as an ensemble. Heck of a band.
